SOCIAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE

SOCIAL CONCERNS MEETING

will be held on Thursday, September 27, 6:30 PM at Holy Cross, Kelley Hall. Once again thanks to all who have donated items in our Back-Pack collection. Your generosity is most appreciated.

The work of our linked parish ministry includes efforts to provide direct service or outreach to people in need and efforts to work for justice and peace by educating and offering programs to understand the rich social teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.

All are most welcome to join the work of our committee. This month’s meeting is held on the Feast of Saint Vincent de Paul, patron saint of social outreach and the poor. St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us. “Tender God, refuge of the poor, You filled Saint Vincent de Paul with the strength of the Apostles to work for the salvation of the poor. May we who follow the example of his life be driven by unceasing charity to continue the mission of Your Son in the world.” Amen.

BLESSED SACRAMENT/HOLY CROSS SOCIAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE AWARDED DIOCESAN APPEAL GRANT

Having received our application to the Social Justus Fund of the Diocesan Annual Appeal, our linked parish social concerns committee has been awarded a $5000.00 grant to continue the good work and ministries of our parishes. It is a wonderful affirmation of the dedication and commitment of our committee as well as the support of the members of our parishes, only made possible because of your generous contributions to the Diocesan Annual Appeal.
