SOCIAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE

NON-PERISHABLE FOOD COLLECTION

Our Social Concerns Committee is conducting our annual food drive up to and including our Thanksgiving Day Mass. All food items can be dropped off in the vestibule of both churches. All donations will go to our local food pantries. Please help us to serve families in our community.

SOCIAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE MEETING, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 6:30 pm, BLESSED SACRAMENT PARISH HALL

Plans for Christmas Giving Tree; collection of items (100 bottles of shampoo) for youth group participation in St. Francis Kitchen Christmas event; Christmas Day meal for men in St. Anthony’s Haven (men’s homeless shelter); ongoing conversation about education, direction of services and support to/for persons and families contending with mental health issues.

Food Collection: During the month of November, the Social Concerns Committee invites all to drop of nonperishable food items to the parish entrances at Blessed Sacrament and Holy Cross. Also, please bring food stuff to Thanksgiving Day Mass to be presented at the altar during the presentation of the gifts.

THE SOCIAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE OF HOLY CROSS AND BLESSED SACRAMENT PARISHES will sponsor a discussion on Death and Grief

on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 6:30 PM in Kelley Hall at Holy Cross Parish. Monsignor Michael Delaney, along with Mike Glinsky, Funeral Director and Vince Maletta, Funeral Director from the Michael P Glinsky Funeral Home in Olyphant will be the discussion leaders and will be available to answer questions. Refreshments will follow.
