SOCIAL CONCERS BABY SHOWER

Thank you to everyone who came out to help support our Social Concerns sponsored Baby Shower to benefit St. Joseph’s Baby Pantry. This year we were able to collect over $600.00, as well as many beautiful outfits, crocheted baby blankets, and several packages of baby diapers in variety of sizes. A special thank you to everyone who donated a gift basket for our raffle, baked, helped prepare the delicious food and set up.

HOLY WEEK APPRECIATION

Many thanks to the numerous people who worked so hard to prepare for our various Hoy Week services; the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, the Lectors, Altar Servers, Adult Altar Servers, Sacristans, members of our Music Ministry, Ushers, Church Cleaners, those who helped decorate the churches, maintenance and secretarial staff. What a beautiful job once again! Also a word of appreciation to the Chicken Bar-B-Que Committee from Holy Cross Parish and the Family Festival Committee from Blessed Sacrament Parish for purchasing the chocolate crosses for the children.

A word of deep appreciation to Mary DeSales, Margaret and Patricia Walsh who spent several hours this past weekend decorating the Holy Cross Sanctuary with a wide array of vegetables and produce. Special thanks to the Confraternity of Holy Cross Parish for the recent purchase of an A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrillator) for use during a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). AED’s are portable medical devices that automatically analyze and detect cardiac arrhythmias of SCA patients through electrodes, and are able to produce a shock which stops the heart and allows it to return to a normal rhythm a process called defibrillation.

CHICKEN BBQ DINNER – APPRECIATION

Thank you to all who made our Annual chicken BBQ a huge success. A special word of appreciation to Mary & Tom Kearney who chaired and organized the event. Thank you to all who helped with the set-up and clean-up, all who provided a themed basket, those who baked many of the homemade desserts, those who made so many various donations to help reduce the expenses of the barbeque. A special thank you to the members of Olyphant Excelsior Hose Co. #1 who assembled the barbeque pit and cooked the chicken. Without these men, we would not have a chicken barbeque .Thank you to the many local vendors who generously made a donation to the barbeque. Thank you to the volunteers that worked the day of the event and to all the Confirmation candidates who worked. And finally, thank you to all who supported the barbeque by purchasing dinner and raffle tickets and supporting the various stands at the barbeque.
