As you may know, Make-A-Wish grants wishes for children with critical illnesses. Since 1988 they have granted 261 wishes for children living in Lackawanna County. A child with a critical illness who is between the ages of 2 ½ and 18 at the time of referral is potentially eligible for a wish. VNA HOSPICE & HOME HEALTH

Do you have an hour a week to spare? The VNA is seeking caring, compassionate, and dynamic individuals to join their volunteer team. The volunteer would share their unique skills and talents to enhance the patient’s quality of life.

Currently they are seeking individuals to provide companionship services for their patients, caregiver relief and supportive services and in-office volunteer time. The volunteer visit would be either in the patient’s home or in a facility or at the office 301 Delaware Avenue.

McDonnell Family Fundraiser

Kathleen McDonnell has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Kathleen and her family are actively involved within the Diocese of Scranton. Marywood University Aphasia Group

Marywood University Aphasia Group is a free community service support group that is made up of people living with stroke at any stage of their recovery, in addition to family members and caregivers. Our aphasia group encourages individuals affected by stroke to come together in a warm and accepting environment. Through group discussion and organized language and literacy activities, we aim to encourage independence and to maximize speech, language, and reading skills. New members are always welcome.
